Abby's first dance

Tonight I was able to help my oldest niece Abby get ready for her first dance! It was such a fun experience. I think we were more excited than she was. We did the whole deal, took her to get her nails manicured, hair done and the whole bit. Her mom did her makeup and made sure Abby had a boutonnière for her date. Abby looked darling and I thought it was fun that I was able to be a part of it! I hope she had a blast.... here are a few pictures....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLA GIRL!!!!

Ella is my little buddy! And 2 days ago she turned 4! I am a little behind in posting her birthday wishes, sorry Ella! Ella and I have a special bond, she and I spent a little time together just before she turned 2. And ever since then I have just LOVED her to pieces! She spoils me as her aunt and in return I get to spoil her right back! :) Ella I hope you know how much I love you and look forward to talking to you on the phone. You put such a big smile on my face and my favorite thing about you is when you tell me stories! You are the best story teller and a REALLY good singer! I also love it when I come to visit and you wake me up and ask me to put makeup on you just like me. I hope you had so much fun camping for your birthday! I still can't wait to hear about all the cool things you did while you were there. I love you and miss you all the time. Happy Birthday! I am so glad you are a part of our family! Love, Aunt Nat

Never forget!

Today I was listening to the radio and watching tv being reminded of such a tragic and awful time 8 years ago. President Obama was giving a speech at the Pentagon on tv as I was getting ready this morning and I noticed that I should have been touched by our President talking about 9/11, however I felt it was cold and just another speech that was written and had to be given....I felt that was odd and made slight mention of it to my mom as I drove her to the airport this morning. * Now...I do not consider myself a very political person so this is not about being political please understand...but I am very patriotic and I cannot help but feel especially so today.* Anyway, I dropped mom off and was heading back home while listening to the radio and that song came on about never forgetting and where we were when the world stopped turning....on that September day...country song...anyway.....then came President Bush's voice and immediately my heart filled with emotion, I could not hold back the tears. I just felt his love for this country and for its people. Some may say things about each President and their choices yada yada...but nothing can touch that raw emotion I heard in President Bush's speech at that moment...I remember it then and I can still remember it now. I will never forget and I wish today I felt that way when I heard our current President speak.
